Garner EMS & Rescue Announces Promotions
Wednesday, July 1, 2009
-
Garner EMS & Rescue Squad announces two promotions effective at 0700 hours on Wednesday 7/1/2009.  Melanie Mangum was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and Stacy Garner was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  Both of these members serve within the Garner Medical Transport Division.  These promotions will help make the span of control manageable within this division as it continues to grow.

Lieutenant Mangum started at Garner EMS & Rescue Squad in 1985 as a volunteer.  She later moved to part time and then became one of the first full time members of the Garner Medical Transport Division where she served as a dispatcher until her promotion today.

Sergeant Garner came to this organization as a Cadet Member in 2005.  She moved to volunteer status, then she was full time in the EMS Division prior to transferring to the Garner Medical Transport Division at the start this past December.

Please join me in congratulating these two dedicated members on their accomplishments and wish them well with the future duties.
