At approximately 1620 hours, Garner EMS83 was dispatched to a MVC on Timber Drive near Harth Drive.  While units were en route, additional information suggested a subject trapped which generated a response from additional resources.

First arriving units found a vehicle down an embankment and Garner PD officers attempting to gain access to the patient.  The patient was extricated and transported to WakeMed as a trauma.  Subsequently, the patient went into cardiac arrest during transport and was pronounced dead at WakeMed Hospital.

Units on scene included Garner EMS Chief 800, Chief 801, EMS81, EMS83, Squad 881 and Garner Fire Department's Engine 1 and Car 2.
