General Requirements for the Garner Rescue Squad:

• Employment history, criminal history and background consistent with a position of public trust.
• Must have an acceptable driving history
• High School (GED) or College Diploma

Rescue Division Volunteer:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be a credentialed EMT and TR (Technical Rescuer) or able to obtain with 18 months of membership

Garner Medical Transport Volunteer:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be a credentialed EMT

Cadet Volunteer:

• Must be at least 15 years of age and under the age of 18
• Must have a letter of recommendation from parent and principal
• Must maintain a “C” average (2.0) or better in school
• Complete the training requirements set forth by the Chief
